1968
Founded
Anchor Tool & Plastic, Inc was Born

Anchor Tool and Plastics was Founded by Ron Rogers. Initially started with no equipment, Mr. Rogers traded press time for tooling labor to run molded parts on the weekends.

1969
Purchase
The First Step

Purchase the first 125-ton Vandorn Press and leased 600sq ft building below a business called Golden Valley TV.

1970
Tools
Tool Building Equipment

The first of the tool building equipment was delivered in a rented space under a Chinese restaurant. Anchor designed and built new molds to produce plastics with its three unexperienced mold makers' Thurston, Rip - Roger Vanwinkle, and Jim Cebulla.

1972
Combining
Two in One

Anchor Tools & Plastics moved to its current location and combined the East and West building spaces to accommodate business growth. They eventually purchased new molding presses, established a top-notch molding team, and expanded their market to other states.

1998
Opportunity
General Instruments (GI)

General Instruments (GI), a top manufacturer of TV cable boxes in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, was looking for a component supplier. They invited Anchor to the groundbreaking of their new 30,000 square foot plant and offered the chance to work together. The new facility purchases six molding presses and other equipment and began producing plastic parts.

2005
Contract
Contract with Honda

Selected for a major contract with American Honda Motor Co. Inc. assembling center console parts for the first of many models of the 2006 Civics.

2007
Bought
Start of Anchor Plastics, Inc.

The Minnesota branch of Anchor Tool & Plastic, Inc. was purchased by Steve Rogers, Ron Rogers' son, and renamed Anchor Plastics, Inc. Since then, Steve worked to grow the company by purchasing new presses and expanding the client base internationally. He also implemented a recycling system for grinding leftover runners, installed robot pickers, and set up automated presses to enable 24/7 operation if needed.

What is Injection Molding

The manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting molten material into a mold. Injection molding can be performed with a host of materials mainly including metals, glasses, elastomers, confections, and most commonly thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers.
